The rebuilt area will be named Het's oasis an area of education and exploration with new skill-related materials for those seeking to develop their Agility Farming and Hunter skills

Jagex has announced that it will be sending "messages to those who we've identified as being involved within"RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone who has been involved, we'd like to make it clear that this is your one all-encompassing warning" said the statement.

Other measures the developer is likely to be looking at as punishment for OSRS gold RWT activities include wealth removal which is basically the removal of gains earned by accounts of players on the server level. It could also mean potential bans.

RuneScape's PvP feature, which is known as"the Duel Arena, will also see stricter rules implemented. Jagex claims that the feature "has been a trigger for the toxicity of this behavior" and that 38 per cent of all bans related to RWT actions up to now come from that aspect in the game. It claims that the number of bans already amount in "thousands of bans every month".

So, the developer seems to be taking the nuclear option, saying "we're thinking about the long-term to take through the Duel Arena out of RuneScape entirely." In the meantime the game will take "some temporary actions" to improve PvP "until our development teams are able to deliver an update major enough to completely takes over the Duel Arena next year."

They will also have a limit at the maximum amount GP which is also known as gold points and players will be able to stake matches inside the Duel Arena. Players will be allowed to wager "no more than 50m GP per duel". Further rules haven't been described as of yet.

Jagex claims that "a completely new experience that's going to form part of the Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena in early 2022 However, no additional details have been provided yet.

While the impact of these changes remains to be evaluated the effects of these changes are among the most powerful measures any studio has made to prevent external abuse of its systems in pursuit of real-world financial gain. If they succeed, similar actions might be found in the MMO space in the coming years.

Jagex is announcing that after 18 years of being the battleground for PvP, Duel Arena will be ending its presence in RuneScape and a new location is being added. RuneScape is set to introduce Het's Oasis, with an all-new scenery, new techniques for gaining skills and two new mini-quests available to play.

Kicking off today with the Oasis Restoration game, players will be faced with the transformation of the Duel Arena following a cataclysmic earthquake that has devastated the entire area. They will join forces to turn the wreckage of the arena from "a blood-soaked fighting pit where legends have staked their wealth in one-on-one matches, to a tranquil place to relax."

The participants will help rebuild the area and perform buy RuneScape gold daily tasks that will reward them in line with their progress. Those who take part in the community event will be rewarded with exclusive event prizes including a brand new name, a crocodile as a pet, desert-themed cosmetic armour, and Gators' footwear.

After the two-week community celebration The rebuilt area will be named Het's oasis an area of education and exploration with new skill-related materials for those seeking to develop their Agility Farming and Hunter skills.
